There’s something so serene about driving on empty roads, with your favorite jam playing in the car. It’s your time and space. Nobody can take that away from you. We all love road trips, there’s no denying that. Even the idea of discussing a road trip plans on Whatsapp groups is delightful. Some of us just pick up bags, throw in a few tees and pair of jeans and settle down in the driving seat and let the vibes navigate the drive. But then most of us are compulsive planners. We plan everything beforehand to minute details. Anyway, this blog post is not about how to plan your travelling expeditions at all. It’s about what sort of edibles you need to carry with you, so as to not let anyone crib about convenience store staples like potato chips, candies and soft drinks. So here’s what we suggest,

Dry fruits: Dry fruits are popular, because they are powerful. Dry fruits are powerhouse of energy in the form of minerals, vitamins, phytonutrients and fiber that your body requires everyday. Dry fruits don’t get spoiled easily, you can pack them for a long time and they will still be edible. They are light weight as well and are handy, especially while planning hiking etc.

Pre-prepped Vegetables: There are plenty of veggies you can carry on your roadtrips. Best options here are broccoli florets, carrots, radishes, apples and snap peas. It’s best to carry mayonnaise sauce to sauce things up too.

Fruits

  1. Apple – is one of the fruits that are cultivated globally. Apple provide rich supply of plenty of phytochemicals and phenolic compounds. Apple has various healthy benefits, that’s why they say “An apple a day, keeps the doctor away.”
  2. Carrot – Who doesn’t like to chill with a fresh crispy carrot? If carrots weren’t around, we would have to live without a lot of proverbs :D. On a serious note, carrots are a rich source of Vitamin K, Vitamin B6 and many other essential nutrients.  Not just that, they help with digestion too. Also, we bet a lot of us don’t know this but raw carrots can be used to help cure wounds and inflammation as well. Not that you need to carry them for that purpose
  3. Raddish – Radishes have Sodium, Fiber and proteins. And they are yummy. You need more reasons than that? Please, some of us have gotten married for less than that.
  4. Blueberries – Even though they are fragile they do great at room temperature and because they are tiny they require small space.

Lastly, you can always check out local stores at every pit stop for anything that’s enticing enough to make you wanna open your purse. Cuz sometimes even though you’re on a proper diet, the heart wants what the heart wants. Our heart wants to devour some freshly baked cakes right now………………so adios amigos!
