Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi, as it’s popularly know is a Hindu festival that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters in the month of Shravana. The term “Raksha Bandhan” is Sanskrit and translates to “a tie of protection”. Brothers get thread amulets tied by their sisters and it follows with prayers for their happiness and longevity. Brothers are in turn bound to cherish and safeguard their sisters with love. These fragile threads symbolize the of love among siblings.
